Hunterscroft is set in an area of outstanding natural beauty with its lush green countryside, yet close to two small towns for all your amenities.
We are one of the closest Holiday accommodation to river cottage HQ, which is situated just 1 mile along the road. Easily accessible by car, foot or bicycle it is in a beautiful setting.
Just 2 minutes walk along the road is a family run pub that serves food and drink every day and night. Being a family run establishment, however, you need not worry about late night noises. A small post office is just a further minute away which stocks all your necessities with a smile.
On one side of us we have Axminster, home of Axminster carpets and River Cottage Canteen. There is also a Tesco, Co-op, Complete Meats butchers and health food shop, alongside many other small shops, pubs and restaurants. Buses run hourly to and from the town square and can be caught from just outside the driveway.
On the other side of us is Lyme Regis. A famous fishing town along the Jurassic Coast. Stretches of sand and pebbled beaches span the sea font. Beautiful Gardens over look the sea and a picture perfect harbour homes small fishing trip boats and Lyme Regis Aquarium. The Cobb is a focal point for many, the film place of Jane Austin's Novel The French Lief tenants Woman and many fundraiser take place here, such as Candles on the Cobb, as well as others during the local Lifeboat week and Carnival week. This is also the prime location for any keen on a good old fossil hunt. The beaches are havens for fossils. Home of Mary Anning, the local Museum have exhibits on her as well as various walks, they are always there to help. Again buses run hourly.
